Aproko Doctor Donates 11KW Solar Facility to Epe Hospital

Solar Facility Powers Epe General Hospital

As part of a growing movement toward sustainable energy in Nigeria, notable figures are installing solar facilities to improve healthcare and support community development. These efforts showcase the transformative potential of renewable energy.

Widely known as Aproko Doctor, health advocate and medical professional Dr. Chinonso Egemba recently made a significant contribution to Nigerian healthcare by donating an advanced 11KW solar power system powered by the Luminous Rayverter to Epe General Hospital.

Installed at the hospital’s Mother-Child Centre, this advanced solar facility provides uninterrupted electricity for essential healthcare services. A statement on the project highlighted that the solution eliminates power outages, ensuring critical operations can continue without disruption.

Dr. Egemba explained his motivation for the project. “This Christmas, I wanted to give back in a way that truly saves lives. The Mother-Child Centre is a critical part of our healthcare system, as it offers vital care to mothers and newborns. For such a project, I needed a reliable solution combining efficiency, durability, and robust after-sales support. Luminous was the obvious choice,” he said.

A Commitment to Technology and Healthcare Transformation

Dr. Egemba’s initiative highlights a commitment to leveraging technology for pressing community needs. His choice of a solar facility demonstrates how renewable energy can play a vital role in transforming healthcare delivery in Nigeria.

Simba Group, the distributors of Luminous in Nigeria, echoed this sentiment. “This project highlights Aproko Doctor’s unwavering commitment to improving lives through practical solutions. It also showcases the critical role solar power plays in revolutionizing healthcare across the country,” the group stated.

Chief Segun Ajibulu Brings Solar Power to Ekiti Communities

In Ekiti State, other community solar projects are also making a significant impact. Chief Segun Ajibulu, a philanthropist and former senatorial aspirant, recently installed solar-powered streetlights in Ipao-Ekiti as part of his foundation’s annual social intervention program.

The initiative involved installing 20 solar-powered streetlights in strategic locations, alongside free medical outreach and the distribution of palliatives. Beneficiaries were spread across 10 communities, including Ipao, Oke Ako, Irele, Ajowa, Odo Oro, Ikole, Ijesa Isu, Itapaji, Iyemero, and Ayebode-Ekiti.

Established 33 years ago, Chief Ajibulu’s foundation has consistently supported communities across Ekiti State. The philanthropist expressed gratitude for being able to sustain the initiative. “This program is my way of giving back to society. I started it 33 years ago after my father’s death. By God’s grace, I have sustained it since then. My prayer is for more resources to do even greater things in the future,” he said.

During this year’s program, approximately 1,500 widows and elderly individuals received food items and cash gifts. The foundation also organized children’s events, including a funfair and a Christmas party, where children received clothing and gifts.

Community Leaders and Government Officials Commend the Effort

The streetlight project and other initiatives earned praise from community leaders. Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, described Ajibulu as a philanthropist committed to the welfare of his people. “Chief Ajibulu is one of the strong pillars of the APC in Ekiti and the Southwest. His dedication to community development is exemplary,” he said.

Prince Michael Ogungbemi, Chairman of the Ajoni Local Council Development Area, also lauded the initiative. “For someone not holding political office to consistently support communities for over 33 years is remarkable. Chief Ajibulu is a true leader, assisting in community development and complementing the governor’s efforts,” Ogungbemi stated.

The growing adoption of solar facilities in Nigeria is improving access to essential services such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure. Such initiatives are revolutionizing service delivery and promoting sustainability and community development nationwide.
