KPI Green Energy Ltd, the solar and hybrid division of India’s KP Group, has secured Letters of Award/Intent to develop solar projects with a combined capacity of 32.15 MW. The solar projects will be executed by its subsidiary, Sun Drops Energia Private Limited.
KPI Green Energy to Power Industries with New Solar Projects
The projects will cater to a diverse array of companies such as Aditya Ultra Steel Pvt. Ltd, Suraj Dyeing & Printing Ltd, Sunita Processors Pvt. Ltd, Balaji Polyester Pvt. Ltd, Citizen Metalalloys Ltd, Suez Internationals, Vintage Tiles, Siddheswari Textiles, P.D. & Sons, Hayat Enterprise, Meghdoot Leisure LLP and Devang Paper Mill.
Sun Drops Energia will manage the design, development and construction of these solar power plants, with implementation planned in phases during the financial year 2025–26. This initiative thereby underscores KPI Green Energy's expanding contribution to advancing renewable energy adoption within India’s industrial sector.
Sun Drops Energia Gains Domestic Solar Contracts
The orders are entirely domestic, with no participation from international entities. The company has confirmed that promoters, promoter groups and group companies have no involvement with the entities awarding these contracts. Furthermore, the contracts are not classified as related party transactions, ensuring transparency and compliance with arm’s length principles. Receiving these Letters of Award/Intent marks a significant milestone for M/s. Sun Drops Energia as they expand their renewable energy portfolio.
KPI Green Energy Expands Solar Capacity to 1.2 GW
KPI Green Energy Limited (KPIGEL) was established in 2008 and specializes in solar power generation. The company supplies solar power to captive power plant (CPP) customers as both an independent power producer (IPP) and an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor.
Currently, its operational IPP capacity under the third-party open access model is 110 MW, including a recently developed 36.2 MW hybrid capacity in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar and Bharuch districts. Additionally, the company operates IPP capacities of 25 MW and 21 MW through its subsidiaries, KPIGEPL and SDEPL respectively, also in Bharuch, Gujarat.
At the group level, the total installed IPP capacity stands at 156 MW while over 287 MW of CPP projects had been commissioned as of June 2024. KPI Green is actively developing projects with a total capacity of 1.2 GW, including recently awarded utility-scale projects.
