Greenzo Energy, a prominent Indian manufacturer of indigenous alkaline electrolyzers and renewable energy solutions provider, has announced the acquisition of a significant ₹500 crore Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract. The deal involves the development of a 120 MW ground-mounted solar facility in Nepal, a move that boosts the company’s total order book to ₹1,900 crore.
Project Scope and Technical Specifications
The ambitious project is structured to be developed in phases, with a target completion date set for 2025. It will consist of 12 distinct clusters, each with a 10 MW capacity, creating a fully ground-mounted infrastructure. A key feature of the development is an advanced high-tension transmission line designed to connect the plant directly to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) grid. This integration will not only supply clean power but also enhance regional grid stability by feeding any surplus energy back into the national system.
A Catalyst for Regional Growth and Collaboration
This venture is the culmination of a two-year collaborative effort between Greenzo, Nepalese authorities, and the project developer. It is expected to be a significant driver of local economic activity, creating over 500 jobs during its lifecycle. Greenzo Energy will oversee the project’s entire execution, from initial engineering and procurement to final on-site installation and commissioning.
Sandeep Agarwal, Managing Director of Greenzo Energy India Ltd., emphasized the company’s dedication to quality and its broader vision. “With the Letter of Credit secured and work on site underway, we are fully committed to delivering each phase of the project with precision and transparency,” he stated. “Through this project, we aim to empower innovation with our green energy solutions, support Nepal’s environmental goals, and place India on the world map as a leader in the renewable energy segment.”
Strengthening South Asia’s Green Energy Future
The project represents a key part of Greenzo’s strategy to bolster clean energy infrastructure across South Asia and aligns with Nepal’s renewable energy ambitions. Kushal Agarwal, Executive Director at Greenzo, highlighted the project’s cooperative spirit. “This project is not only a business milestone but a shared vision for a greener South Asia,” he said. “Our long-standing collaboration with Nepalese stakeholders will allow us to provide lasting, community-driven benefits, further cementing Greenzo’s role as a global leader in clean energy.”
With a diverse portfolio that includes wind, ammonia, and green hydrogen projects, Greenzo has already completed over 2 GW of solar EPC and consultancy work. This new facility in Nepal marks another significant step in its mission to build a sustainable energy future that supports global economies and ecosystems.
