TotalEnergies ENEOS Completes 2.2MWp Solar Project for Ceres

TotalEnergies ENEOS has completed a 2.2 megawatt-peak (MWp) solar project for PT. Perusahaan Industri Ceres (Ceres), a leader in Indonesia’s chocolate confectionery industry.

Ceres Installs Photovoltaic System in Indonesia, Reducing Carbon Footprint

Equipped with over 3,700 modules, the solar photovoltaic system will generate around 3,250 megawatt-hours (MWh) of renewable electricity each year, supplying approximately 9% of the energy needed for Ceres’ manufacturing facility in Bandung, Indonesia.

This solar installation is expected to reduce the company’s carbon footprint by about 2,600 tons of CO2 annually—equivalent to removing 560 cars from the road or planting over 39,000 trees.

“TotalEnergies ENEOS is thrilled to support PT. Perusahaan Industri Ceres on its sustainability journey. As a premier solar provider for the commercial and industrial sectors, we help customers like PT. Perusahaan Industri Ceres reduce both their energy costs and carbon emissions. We will leverage our global expertise to provide innovative, long-term solutions to help our customers achieve their decarbonization goals,” said Alexandru Buzatu, Director of TotalEnergies ENEOS Renewables Distributed Generation Asia Pacific.

TotalEnergies ENEOS and Ceres Sign 15-Year Solar Power Agreement

Under the 15-year agreement, TotalEnergies ENEOS has fully funded, installed, and will manage the solar photovoltaic system. This arrangement allows Ceres to benefit from substantial cost savings by paying only for the electricity generated, with no upfront investment required.

“We are excited to take this significant step towards a more sustainable future. Solar energy, as a renewable resource, plays an important role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating climate change. PT. Perusahaan Industri Ceres is proud to embark on this partnership with TotalEnergies ENEOS in achieving this sustainability milestone. This also marks an advancement in Indonesia’s target of reaching net zero emissions by 2060 or sooner,” said Nancy Florencia, President Director of PT. Perusahaan Industri Ceres.

TotalEnergies ENEOS Targets 2 GW Solar Expansion in Asia

A 50/50 joint venture between TotalEnergies and ENEOS, TotalEnergies ENEOS focuses on developing onsite B2B solar distributed generation across Asia, with the goal of adding 2 GW of decentralized solar capacity over the next five years.

To support its 2050 net-zero ambition, TotalEnergies is building a cost-competitive, world-class renewable portfolio of solar, onshore, and offshore wind, along with flexible assets like CCGT and storage to deliver reliable clean power. By the end of 2023, the company’s installed renewable electricity capacity reached 22 GW, with plans to expand to 35 GW by 2025 and exceed 100 TWh of net electricity production by 2030.

TotalEnergies is a global, integrated energy company that produces and markets a diverse range of energy sources, including oil, biofuels, natural gas, green gases, renewables, and electricity. With over 100,000 employees, the company is committed to providing reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy to as many people as possible. Operating in around 120 countries, TotalEnergies integrates sustainability into its core strategy, projects, and operations.

The ENEOS Group operates across the energy and nonferrous metals sectors, covering both upstream and downstream activities. As part of its 2040 goal to become a leading energy and materials company in Asia, ENEOS aims to add value through business transformation and support a low-carbon, recycling-oriented society as it pursues carbon neutrality.
