Samsung Renewable Energy Vietnam Initiative
Samsung Electronics Vietnam Thai Nguyen (SEVT) has initiated the use of renewable electricity under Vietnam’s first direct power purchase agreement (DPPA). The deployment of this agreement was reported in early June as a successful integration of renewable energy through the national grid.
Details of Samsung Renewable Energy Vietnam DPPA
According to the terms of the contract, SEVT will consume approximately 70 GWh of solar power annually, which is estimated to provide clean electricity for around 17,000 households. This initiative is projected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 46,000 tonnes each year.
Support and Implementation of Samsung Renewable Energy Vietnam
Schneider Electric was engaged as the energy consultant for the project, assisting SEVT throughout the negotiations and implementation stages of the DPPA.
Significance of Samsung Renewable Energy DPPAs in Vietnam
This DPPA mechanism enables businesses in Vietnam to have direct access to renewable energy sources, addressing the increasing market demand for lower emissions and cleaner energy options.
