Energizing the Latvia Solar Project Future
European Energy has launched a 65.7 MWp solar project in Latvia as part of its Saldus Hybrid Park, which includes a 46 MW / 105 MWh battery storage system. This hybrid solar-storage project aims to optimize energy generation and integration into the grid.
The project, located in Saldus, Latvia, is designed to not only provide solar power but also to support overall energy resilience with its battery storage capabilities. It is part of a larger initiative that sees the company collaborating with Capalo AI to enhance the operation and trading of hybrid solar and battery projects across the Baltic region.
According to reports, the Saldus project is expected to produce around 166 million kilowatt-hours of green energy annually once operational. The completion is anticipated in the second half of 2026, aligning with the operational timeline for the Anykščiai hybrid park in Lithuania, which has already been brought online.
The partnership with Capalo AI encompasses both the Saldus and Anykščiai projects, collectively covering over 140 MWp of solar capacity and 71 MW / 170 MWh of storage. This significant hybrid asset is aimed at accelerating renewable energy deployment in Latvia and Lithuania, contributing to the energy transition in the region.
