Turkey aims to raise its combined installed capacity of wind and solar energy to 120 gigawatts (GW) by 2035. This plan includes a target to quadruple existing capacity, which stood at 42,491 megawatts (MW) as of July 2026, equating to approximately 33.7% of the country’s total installed electricity capacity.

A significant component of Turkey’s renewable energy strategy is the development of offshore wind energy, with a goal of 5 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2035.
