Oman solar battery storage: Masdar’s stunning 2024 Project

Masdar has partnered with TotalEnergies and Oman’s OQ to build a 500 MW solar plant with battery storage in Oman. This initiative underscores a significant step in Oman’s renewable energy journey, especially as financing has been secured for the 500 MW solar project.

This project is part of a broader push to expand Masdar’s renewable energy portfolio and contribute to Oman’s energy transition. Masdar is actively involved in various renewable energy projects across the Middle East, including launching solar projects in Anbar, Iraq, demonstrating its commitment to advancing sustainability and energy security goals in the region. Furthermore, Masdar’s influence extends beyond the Middle East, driving Spain’s green energy transformation through investments in wind and solar projects. The company also has a joint venture that has started construction on a 60MW solar plant in Sharjah, supporting the UAE’s Net-Zero 2050 strategy. These projects highlight Masdar’s growing role in the global renewable energy landscape.
