GREW Solar ALMM Approval: Impressive 11 GW Target by 2026

GREW Solar Receives ALMM Approval for High-Performance Modules

In a significant development for India’s domestic solar manufacturing sector, GREW Solar has successfully secured approval under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) for 3 GW of its solar module manufacturing capacity. This approval pertains to the company’s state-of-the-art facility located in Dudu, Rajasthan.

High-Efficiency Modules with GREW Solar ALMM Approval for Government Projects

The ALMM certification covers GREW Solar’s advanced bifacial n-type TOPCon modules. These high-performance modules boast efficiencies reaching up to 23.14%, positioning them at the forefront of solar technology. With this crucial government endorsement, GREW’s modules are now officially eligible for deployment in a wide range of projects across India, including government-supported initiatives, open access solar parks, and net metering installations.

The approved G12R high-power series modules deliver an impressive output of up to 635 W. According to the company, this higher power rating provides tangible benefits for large-scale projects. It can reduce the total number of modules required per megawatt (MW) by 6-8% compared to standard modules. This reduction translates directly into lower balance-of-system costs, with savings on structures, cabling, and land requirements. Furthermore, it enhances Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) efficiency and increases container power density by 6-7%.

A Boost for Domestic Manufacturing with GREW Solar ALMM Approval

GREW Solar has stated that receiving the ALMM approval is a testament to its modules meeting the rigorous quality and performance standards mandated for government and utility-scale projects in the country. This achievement not only strengthens GREW’s position in the market but also aligns with India’s broader goal of building a self-reliant solar supply chain.

This approval is part of a larger expansion plan for the company, which has set an ambitious target to scale its total manufacturing capacity to 11 GW by the year 2026.

The ALMM list is a critical component of India’s solar policy, designed to ensure the quality and reliability of solar components used in the country while promoting domestic manufacturing. The inclusion of GREW’s 3 GW capacity contributes to the growing list of domestically produced, high-quality modules available for India’s clean energy transition. This news comes as the government considers a major overhaul of the ALMM framework, with plans to introduce even higher solar module efficiency norms starting from 2027, signaling a continuous push towards technological advancement in the sector.
