iForte and SPINDO Partner on Java Hybrid Solar Plant Development
In a landmark move for Indonesia’s industrial sector, PT iForte Energi Nusantara has announced a strategic partnership with PT Steel Pipe Industry of Indonesia Tbk (SPINDO) to develop a state-of-the-art 6.3 megawatt peak (MWp) hybrid solar power plant in Java. This ambitious project is set to become the largest hybrid on-grid solar facility on the island, signaling a major step forward in sustainable energy adoption for heavy industry.
Setting a New Standard with a Java Hybrid Solar Plant
The core of this project is its innovative hybrid design, which integrates a powerful solar generation system with a 1 megawatt-hour (MWh) Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This combination is crucial for industrial applications like steel manufacturing, where a consistent and reliable power supply is non-negotiable.
The BESS will play a vital role in managing the inherent fluctuations of solar power. By storing excess energy generated during peak sunlight hours, the system can deploy it during periods of high operational demand or when sunlight is limited, such as on cloudy days or after sunset. This ensures that SPINDO’s operations are powered by clean energy more consistently, aligning electricity supply directly with the company’s demanding production schedules.
Expanding Sustainability with a New Java Hybrid Solar Plant

The steel pipe manufacturer has already been leveraging solar power, having commissioned a combined 2.1 MWp of rooftop solar systems across its facilities (Units 1, 2, and 3) in 2025.
