BAKU – Azerbaijan plans to commission 12 solar and wind power plants with a combined capacity of 2 GW in 2027, according to Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov.
The minister announced the plan on May 20, as reported by Interfax. The new capacity is part of the country’s efforts to increase its renewable energy generation.
These projects follow other renewable energy initiatives in Azerbaijan, including plans for BP to begin construction on a solar power plant and clean energy investments by the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ).
