Agrivoltaics Italy Project Approval Details

Spanish developer Solaria has received environmental approval for its 600 MW agrivoltaics project located in Spinazzola, southern Italy. This project represents a significant permitting milestone for one of Solaria’s largest solar developments in Europe. In addition to the solar generation capacity, the project will incorporate 325 MW of battery energy storage and plans for a 400 MW data center.

Agrivoltaics Italy Existing Projects and Capacity

According to Solaria, this approval adds to approximately 300 MW of Italian solar capacity that the company already classifies as ready for construction. Solaria’s Italian portfolio further includes the 146 MW Garaguso project and the 81 MW Palermo project, along with other smaller sites.

Solaria has identified Italy as a priority market and expressed its goal to secure environmental approvals for a total of 1 GW of projects in the country over the coming months.
