TotalEnergies has been awarded a 300 MW solar project by the Saudi Ministry of Energy. Patrick Pouyanne, CEO of TotalEnergies, confirmed the project in recent statements to the media, which emphasize the company’s expanding renewable energy portfolio in the Kingdom.

This new project adds to TotalEnergies’ existing commitments in Saudi Arabia, which include the construction of a 114 MW solar plant and another ongoing 300 MW project. TotalEnergies is focusing on increasing its contributions to the country’s renewable energy initiatives as part of its growth strategy.

Saudi Arabia is actively investing in renewable energy to diversify its energy sources and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. The country aims to generate 50% of its power from renewable sources by 2030, making projects like TotalEnergies’ vital for this transition.
