Cleantech Solar Launches 150 MWp Solar Park in Maharashtra

Cleantech Solar has officially commenced commercial operations at its new 150 MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) park located in Jalkot, Maharashtra. The facility, which began operating on January 2, 2025, represents the company’s sixth renewable energy park in the state, significantly bolstering its regional portfolio and reinforcing its commitment to India’s clean energy transition.

Cleantech Solar Launches 150 MWp Solar Park in Maharashtra: A New Era

Engineered with advanced single-axis tracking systems to maximize power generation, the Jalkot solar park is set to deliver substantial environmental benefits. Over its projected lifespan, the facility is expected to generate approximately 4,977 GWh of clean electricity. This output will contribute to a significant reduction in carbon emissions, abating over 4,552 kilotonnes of CO₂.

The project serves a diverse group of industrial clients on a captive basis, providing a direct supply of green energy to leading manufacturers in the pharmaceutical, automotive, construction, and chemical sectors. This model enables businesses to achieve their sustainability targets, lower their operational costs, and reduce their dependence on fossil fuels.

Strategic Expansion in a Key Market

Sanjay Gupta, CEO of Cleantech Solar, highlighted the project’s strategic importance. “Our state-of-the-art solar park in Maharashtra harnesses cutting-edge technology to deliver high-quality renewable energy solutions, enabling our clients to reduce energy costs, embrace sustainable manufacturing and make significant strides in lowering their carbon footprint,” he stated.

This 150 MWp park is a key component of Cleantech Solar’s wider 300 MWp portfolio of operational and under-construction solar and wind projects in Maharashtra. The company’s expansion is not limited to India; it maintains a growing pan-Asian footprint with a total renewable energy portfolio of 1.2 GWp across various stages of development in countries including Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

This continued growth is supported by strategic shareholders Keppel Ltd., Keppel Asia Infrastructure Fund, and Shell Singapore Pte. Ltd., whose backing empowers Cleantech Solar to scale its innovative and cost-effective energy solutions across the region, further establishing its role as a leader in the industrial renewable energy sector.
