Emeren Inks Solar PPA for 15MW Polish Solar Project

Emeren Group has cemented its presence in Poland’s growing renewables market by finalizing a seven-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a 15 MW solar project. The now-operational facility, located in the country’s Silesia region, will supply clean energy to the Polish subsidiary of an undisclosed multinational consumer goods company.

This project marks a significant contribution to Poland’s energy transition. The solar farm is expected to generate enough electricity to offset approximately 16,150 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year, equivalent to taking over 3,700 gasoline-powered cars off the road. Beyond its environmental benefits, the development has also stimulated the local economy by creating 80 construction jobs and 10 permanent positions for ongoing operations and maintenance.

The agreement underscores Emeren’s successful business model in a key European market. Poland represents the company’s second-largest European portfolio, totaling 30.6 MW. Following the PPA signing, Emeren sold the 15 MW project as part of a larger 17 MW operational portfolio, demonstrating its strategy of developing and monetizing high-value assets.

Yumin Liu, CEO of Emeren Group, highlighted the project’s dual impact. “This project not only supports Poland’s energy transition, but it also strengthens the local economy and showcases our ability to deliver impactful renewable energy projects on a global scale,” Liu said. As Poland works to overcome grid challenges and expand its capacity for clean power generation, Emeren’s focus on developing co-located storage solutions alongside its solar projects positions it as a key player in the nation’s decarbonization efforts.
