NTPC Incorporates Mauritius Subsidiary for Floating Solar Projects
NTPC has incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary in Mauritius, named NTPC (Mauritius) Energy Limited, to develop floating solar and battery energy storage projects. The subsidiary was officially incorporated on June 26, 2026, with an initial capital of 1 million Mauritius Rupees (approximately INR 19.8 lakh), fully subscribed by NTPC Limited in cash for 100% ownership and control.
The primary purpose of the new subsidiary is to undertake power sector projects in Mauritius and other international opportunities, with an initial focus on a proposed Floating Solar Photovoltaic (FSPV) project integrated with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The company will also explore and develop other power generation projects and carry out related energy sector business activities within Mauritius.
This incorporation follows approvals from the Ministry of Power, the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), and the Registrar of Companies in Mauritius. It aligns with NTPC’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in global clean energy markets and expand its renewable portfolio beyond India.
