Gensol Engineering Limited has solidified its position in India’s renewable energy landscape by securing a significant turnkey Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract. Awarded by a leading public sector utility, the deal is valued at Rs 7.8 billion (approximately $92.7 million) and entails the development of a 150 MWac ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in the state of Maharashtra.
Comprehensive Project Oversight from Start to Finish
The contract entrusts Gensol with end-to-end responsibility for the solar park’s entire lifecycle. The scope of work is extensive, beginning with land acquisition and moving through detailed design, engineering, and supply chain management. Gensol will also handle all manufacturing, supply, erection, testing, and final commissioning of the grid-connected facility. A crucial part of the project involves building the necessary power evacuation infrastructure to connect the plant to the State Transmission Utility (STU) substation. Following completion, Gensol will provide three years of comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) services, ensuring the long-term performance of the plant, its switchyard, and transmission systems.
