Grid Parity Introduces 5 Amazing Glass-Glass Module for Agrivoltaics

Grid Parity, a leading Chinese manufacturer of glass-glass modules, has introduced an advanced solar module specifically tailored for agrivoltaic systems.

Grid Parity’s New Glass-Glass Module for Agrivoltaic Applications

Grid Parity’s latest transparent module for agrivoltaics boasts a 2 mm glass-glass frame. Utilizing 144 half-cut busbar solar cells and monocrystalline PERC technology, this module generates 550 W of power with an impressive 20.5% efficiency, performing admirably even in low-light conditions.

Grid Parity’s innovative module is engineered with diverse voltage and current specifications, catering to various energy requirements. It features an open-circuit voltage of 49.05 V, a short-circuit current of 14.06 A, a maximum power voltage of 40.56 V, and a maximum power current of 13.57 A. These specifications ensure optimal performance across different applications.

Grid Parity’s Advanced Glass-Glass Module Design Features

The new module is built to endure extreme temperatures ranging from -40 to 85 C, with a temperature coefficient of -0.36% per degree Celsius. The module measures 2,278 mm by 1,133 mm by 35 mm and weighs 33.9 kg, enclosed in an anodized aluminum alloy frame for enhanced durability.

A key feature of the module is its transparent backsheet, allowing 25% light transmittance, which ensures sufficient sunlight reaches the crops beneath, making it particularly suitable for agrivoltaic applications.

Grid Parity offers a robust 12-year product warranty and a 30-year power output warranty, promising reliable long-term performance. The power output is guaranteed to be at least 97.5% of the initial power in the first year, with an expected retention of 87.4% of the original power after 30 years.

Grid Parity’s Commitment to Agrivoltaics with Glass-Glass Module Technology

Grid Parity remains committed to integrating solar energy with agriculture through its agrivoltaic systems. By addressing land scarcity and enhancing energy efficiency, these systems promote sustainable farming practices by generating clean electricity while supporting plant growth.

The company’s glass-glass solar modules are perfect for agrivoltaics, offering high light transmission and creating an optimal environment for crops. These modules help reduce water evaporation and provide shade, which can improve yields in arid regions, supporting sustainable agriculture and renewable energy objectives.

Established in 2018, Grid Parity is dedicated to advancing solar technology, specializing in glass-glass and bifacial modules. The company offers solutions for various applications, including agrivoltaics and building-integrated photovoltaics, positioning itself as a leader in innovative solar solutions.
