Huasun has secured two major contracts with PowerChina, further solidifying its leadership in HJT solar module technology. The company won both a 500 MWp procurement for n-type heterojunction (HJT) modules and a 339.68 MWp deal for the Qinhuangdao Changli offshore PV pilot project. These wins not only strengthen Huasun’s position in the renewable energy sector but also deepen its strategic partnership with PowerChina.
Offshore Photovoltaics and the Energy Transition
Located 7.3 kilometres offshore in waters between 6 and 12 meters deep, the 279-hectare project site requires strict construction standards. Huasun will provide its V-Ocean HJT solar modules, which are specifically engineered for marine environments. Featuring 210mm HJT cells, double-glass encapsulation, and double-sided microcrystalline technology, these modules are the first in the world certified for marine use. They are designed to withstand salt mist, water vapour, and UV exposure, ensuring long-term durability and reliability in challenging offshore conditions.
Offshore photovoltaics are becoming a crucial component of the global energy transition as policymakers and industry leaders turn to these projects to meet growing clean energy demands. This trend is reflected in Shandong’s “14th Five-Year Plan for Power Development,” which aims to build two large offshore photovoltaic bases in the Bohai Rim and Yellow Sea regions. The Qinhuangdao Changli project is the first large-scale offshore solar initiative in Bohai Bay and marks Huasun’s second significant offshore collaboration with PowerChina.
Strengthening the HJT Solar Module Market
Huasun’s success in the 500 MWp procurement bid highlights its vertically integrated strength across ingots, wafers, cells, and modules. Its focus on quality and innovation gives the company a competitive edge, with its HJT solar modules proving effective in diverse applications, from mountainous and agrivoltaic sites to complex offshore solar projects.
The Qinhuangdao Changli offshore PV pilot project is a significant milestone in China’s renewable energy landscape, marking a major step toward the large-scale adoption of offshore solar energy. Its success is expected to set a new standard for future offshore PV developments in China and beyond.
Huasun and PowerChina’s Long-Term Partnership
Huasun and PowerChina have built a strong partnership over the years, with their collaboration driving key advancements in the renewable energy industry. Each successful bid further establishes Huasun as a leader in HJT solar technology, a position underscored by a deep commitment to research and development that ensures its products meet the highest industry standards.
Recognized for their high efficiency and reliability, Huasun’s HJT solar modules are a preferred choice for large-scale projects, especially in challenging environments. The recent wins with PowerChina validate the company’s technological expertise and its dedication to advancing the global energy transition.
These latest achievements reaffirm Huasun’s leadership in the solar industry. By securing these key projects, the company is directly contributing to the future of clean energy, and its partnership with PowerChina continues to foster innovation in offshore photovoltaics and large-scale solar developments.
As the world transitions to cleaner energy sources, Huasun is helping to pave the way with its cutting-edge HJT solar modules. This technology is shaping the future of the energy sector, and the success of these projects demonstrates the growing importance of HJT in creating a more sustainable and efficient global power grid.
