Huasun Wins 840MWp HJT Solar Module Contract with PowerChina

Leading heterojunction (HJT) manufacturer Huasun has significantly bolstered its strategic partnership with Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina), securing two pivotal bids totaling 840 MWp. The successful tenders include a 339.68 MWp supply contract for a landmark offshore project and a 500 MWp procurement for various 2024 solar initiatives, reinforcing the company’s prominent position in the n-type solar module market.

Huasun Wins 840MWp HJT Solar Module Contract with PowerChina: Pioneering Offshore Solar

A key component of the agreement is the 339.68 MWp contract for the Qinhuangdao Changli offshore PV pilot project. Huasun secured first place in this bid for what is the first large-scale offshore solar installation in China’s Bohai Bay. The project site, situated 7.3 kilometers from the coast in waters 6 to 12 meters deep, demands robust and highly reliable technology to withstand the harsh marine environment.

To meet these stringent requirements, Huasun will supply its specialized V-Ocean HJT solar modules. These panels are the first globally to receive certification for marine photovoltaic applications. Engineered with 210mm HJT cells, double-glass encapsulation, and double-sided microcrystalline technology, they are designed for maximum durability against salt mist, high humidity, and prolonged UV exposure, ensuring consistent energy generation and long-term performance.

HJT Technology for a Greener Future

The rise of offshore photovoltaics is a critical element in China’s energy strategy, as highlighted by regional goals like Shandong’s “14th Five-Year Plan for Power Development,” which targets the construction of major offshore PV bases. The Qinhuangdao Changli project represents a major step toward realizing these ambitions and is expected to set a benchmark for future marine solar developments.

Beyond the pioneering offshore project, Huasun’s success in securing the 500 MWp general procurement demonstrates the broad appeal and competitiveness of its technology.
