Southwire Partners with Statewide Renewable for Georgia Solar Array
In a significant move toward sustainable manufacturing, Southwire, a leading name in wire and cable production, has announced a major partnership with Statewide Renewable. This collaboration will bring a new 10-megawatt (MW) solar array to Southwire’s headquarters in Carrollton, Georgia, marking a pivotal step in the company’s ambitious environmental goals.
Powering a Greener Future in Georgia with a Solar Array
At the heart of this initiative is a 10 MW ground-mounted solar system designed to directly power Southwire’s manufacturing operations. Developed and managed by Statewide Renewable, a division of Statewide Electrical Services, the project underscores a growing trend of corporate investment in on-site renewable energy generation.
Construction on the solar array began in late 2025, with the facility expected to become fully operational by the middle of 2026. Once online, its impact will be substantial. The array is projected to generate approximately 15,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of clean electricity annually—enough to power about 1,500 average Georgia homes. This clean energy generation will offset a significant portion of the site’s electricity consumption and reduce Southwire’s carbon footprint by an estimated 8,000 metric tons of CO2 per year.

Statewide Renewable brings its specialized knowledge as the project’s developer, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor, and long-term operator and maintainer, ensuring the array’s efficiency and longevity.

The project creates local jobs during its construction phase and for its ongoing maintenance.
