Jakson & OMC Power Partner for 50 MW Solar Rooftop Project

Jakson Group and OMC Power have announced a partnership to develop a 50 MW solar rooftop project in Uttar Pradesh. Valued at approximately Rs 2 billion, the project will help advance the state’s clean energy transition. The initiative will span all 75 districts, ensuring widespread solar energy adoption.

A Major Leap in Renewable Energy

The solar rooftop project is expected to offset 62,500 tonnes of carbon emissions annually, a reduction equivalent to planting 2.5 million trees. This collaboration reflects India’s broader push for sustainability and energy security, with Jakson Group responsible for installing advanced solar rooftop systems across the state.

Mr Sameer Gupta, CMD, Jakson Group, stated: “Our partnership with OMC Power solidifies our dedication to providing cutting-edge solar energy solutions. This collaboration showcases our ability to execute large-scale projects that align with India’s clean energy aspirations. Together, we aim to set new standards of excellence within the renewable energy sector.”

Mr. Rohit Chandra, MD & CEO, OMC Power, expressed: “This partnership between OMC Power and Jakson Group marks a significant step in Uttar Pradesh’s journey towards sustainable development and energy independence. By advancing solar power adoption across the state, we are reducing carbon emissions, promoting energy savings, and strengthening local infrastructure.”

Impact on Clean Energy and Sustainability

Aligning with India’s clean energy goals, the project strengthens the push for decentralized energy solutions and supports the national agenda for carbon neutrality. The solar rooftop installations will improve energy accessibility, reduce dependency on the grid, and create valuable local employment opportunities.

This initiative could also serve as a model for future large-scale renewable energy projects. Its success may influence similar undertakings in other states, further strengthening India’s renewable energy sector.

Future Prospects for Solar Rooftop Adoption

India is rapidly advancing its solar energy infrastructure. Rooftop solar solutions offer a decentralized approach to power generation that reduces transmission losses and improves overall energy efficiency. The government’s push for net-zero emissions has accelerated investments in solar power projects nationwide.

Uttar Pradesh’s 50 MW solar rooftop project is expected to inspire further investments in clean energy. The state has immense potential for solar adoption, given its high solar irradiance and growing energy demands.

As companies like Jakson Group and OMC Power continue to innovate, India’s renewable energy sector is positioned for sustained growth. This project will not only drive solar energy adoption and reduce carbon emissions but also contribute significantly to the country’s clean energy goals. With strong industry collaborations and policy support, India is well on its way to becoming a global leader in sustainable energy solutions.
