JTI Solar Farm Poland Marks Company’s First Renewable Energy Launch
Japan Tobacco International (JTI) has made a significant leap in its sustainability efforts with the launch of its inaugural solar farm in Poland. Spanning 30 hectares, this solar farm is set to generate 20 MW of clean energy, supplying power to JTI’s factories in Gostków and Stary Gostków. The ambitious project is poised to reduce CO2 emissions by 15,000 tonnes annually and meet 30% of the factories’ electricity demands.

The clean energy produced by the solar farm will not only cater to 30% of the electricity needs of the two factories but will also power 100% of the local railway line utilized by JTI. JTI’s factories in Poland are pivotal in producing and exporting products to over 100 countries, including the UK, Italy, Spain, and the United States.
