Premier Energies Telangana Launches Stunning 5.6GW Plant

Premier Energies Launches 5.6GW Solar Module Production in Telangana

In a significant leap forward for India’s renewable energy sector, Premier Energies has officially commissioned and commenced trial production at its new 5.6 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Telangana. This state-of-the-art plant, located in Seetharampur, Ranga Reddy district, marks a major milestone in the country’s journey towards clean energy self-sufficiency.

Premier Energies Telangana: A Manufacturing Boost

The new facility, operated through its subsidiary Premier Energies Global Environment Private Limited, is a testament to India’s growing capabilities in advanced solar technology. Spanning an impressive 75 acres, the plant is equipped with highly automated production lines designed for maximum efficiency and quality control.

This strategic expansion boosts Premier Energies’ total solar module manufacturing capacity to a remarkable 11.1 GW. This increased capacity is poised to meet the rising demand for solar power in domestic utility-scale projects, commercial installations, and the residential rooftop sector, while also strengthening the company’s position in international markets.

Advanced TOPCon Technology at its Core

At the heart of the new facility is the implementation of cutting-edge TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) technology. This advanced cell architecture is renowned for several key advantages:
* Higher Efficiency: TOPCon cells convert more sunlight into electricity compared to traditional technologies.
* Lower Degradation: The modules maintain their performance better over their lifespan, ensuring long-term energy generation.
* Zero Busbar Architecture: This design enhances durability and performance.

The plant will produce high-efficiency G12R TOPCon modules at an incredible pace, with four modules rolling off the line every 16 seconds. To ensure impeccable quality, the facility incorporates AI-based fault detection systems throughout the manufacturing process, from cell stringing to lamination and final testing.

Driving Economic Growth and a Sustainable Future

The launch of this facility is not just a win for the renewable energy sector but also for the local economy. The project is set to create approximately 2,000 jobs, providing a significant boost to employment in the region.

Chiranjeev Saluja, Managing Director of Premier Energies, described the launch as “a significant milestone in our journey toward building a fully integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem.” He emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting India’s clean energy transition.

Echoing this sentiment, Sudhir Reddy, the company’s Chief Strategy Officer, highlighted how this new capacity strengthens the company’s ability to scale and contribute to India’s ambitious renewable energy goals. By bolstering domestic production, this facility plays a crucial role in reducing India’s reliance on imported solar components and advancing the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India).

With trial production already underway, the Seetharampur facility is set to become a cornerstone of India’s solar manufacturing landscape, powering a cleaner, more sustainable future for the nation and beyond.
