Saudi Arabia Renewable Energy Capacity Growth Overview
Saudi Arabia’s renewable energy capacity rose 88% in 2025, reaching 12.313 GW by the end of the year, according to a report based on data from the Saudi General Authority for Statistics and coverage by Asharq Al-Awsat.
The report indicated that 15 renewable-energy projects were operational in the Kingdom by the end of 2025. Investments in these existing projects exceeded SAR 36 billion, approximately $9.6 billion. This figure refers to operational installed capacity and not necessarily the total planned capacity.
