First Agrivoltaic Project Featuring Solar Array Aragatsotn
A new agrivoltaic solar array has been installed above vineyards in Armenia’s Aragatsotn region, marking the country’s first project of this kind on a vineyard. The initiative, named SUNWINE, was inaugurated on July 31, 2026, near Aghdzk, on the slopes of Mount Aragats.

The project combines a 121-kW solar array with a working vineyard, enabling the land to produce both electricity and grapes simultaneously. The vineyard is home to two native Armenian grape varieties, Areni and Voskehat, which are significant to the Armenian wine industry.
