Sterling and Wilson Bags ₹504 Cr Solar Contract in Rajasthan

Global EPC firm Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd (SWREL) has further solidified its position in India’s renewable energy sector by securing a new contract valued at approximately ₹504 crore, inclusive of taxes. The company announced it has received a Letter of Award (LOA) to develop a substantial solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in Rajasthan for a private independent power producer (IPP).

The project entails the comprehensive supply, installation, and commissioning of a 305 MW AC solar facility, which corresponds to a capacity of 396 MWp DC. In a significant sign of client trust and satisfaction, SWREL confirmed in a regulatory filing that this contract was awarded by a repeat customer, highlighting the company’s strong performance and established relationships within the industry.

Amit Jain, the Global CEO of Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Group, commented on the strategic importance of this win. “We have been making strong inroads in the domestic private IPP market this year, and this new project win reflects our strong positioning and is a testament to our domestic value proposition,” he stated. Jain also expressed optimism for the future, noting, “Besides the strong order pipeline we are seeing in the private sector, there are a large number of bids expected from PSUs in Q4 which augurs well for achieving our order booking target for the year.”

This latest order adds to SWREL’s impressive global track record. The company has a portfolio of over 20.7 GWp across 28 countries, showcasing its extensive experience in executing complex projects worldwide. In addition to its EPC services, Sterling and Wilson manages an operations and maintenance (O&M) portfolio of 7.8 GWp, underscoring its long-term commitment to the projects it builds. The win reinforces SWREL’s continued growth and ability to capture significant opportunities in the domestic solar market.

Its global presence spans key regions including India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Australia, and the Americas, making it a trusted partner for both IPPs and public sector undertakings worldwide.
