New Tajikistan Solar Energy Capacity Development
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) has completed a new solar energy project in Tajikistan, significantly improving electricity access in remote mountainous areas. The project features 6 MW of solar generation capacity combined with a 1 MWh energy storage system, serving communities in the Sughd and Gorno-Badakhshan regions.
Financed through official development assistance from the South Korean government, the initiative aims to enhance electricity reliability during the winter months and bolster local development. In addition, the project seeks to foster cooperation between KHNP and Tajikistan’s energy authorities.
