TERREPOWER Donates 4,900+ Solar Panels to Brighten Haiti

TERREPOWER has announced a philanthropic partnership with Brighten Haiti, an American NGO dedicated to improving education in Haiti through solar energy. Through this collaboration, TERREPOWER is generously donating solar panels to bring clean power to schools.

Solar4Schools: Transforming Education in Rural Haiti

Brighten Haiti’s Solar4Schools initiative will install solar energy systems in more than 300 schools throughout rural Haiti. This pioneering project marks the largest solar deployment for schools in the nation’s history and tackles the urgent need for electricity in underserved areas.

“In Northern Haiti, a staggering 90% of the population lives in darkness, lacking access to electricity. This generous donation is a beacon of hope,” said Kevin Keene, Founder & President of Brighten Haiti.

TERREPOWER and Ontility Boost Brighten Haiti’s Solar Mission

The involvement of TERREPOWER and its Ontility brand marks a pivotal step forward for Brighten Haiti’s mission. The teams are dispatching an initial shipment of 508 sustainably manufactured solar modules for school projects and to train local workers in solar installation techniques.

TERREPOWER’s overall commitment of more than 4,900 solar panels will significantly advance Brighten Haiti’s goal of modernizing the nation’s education system.

“Consider the transformation for schools without power, where just 22 solar panels can illuminate and cool classrooms. This also enables access to computer labs and technology for the first time,” explained Kevin Keene. “This is not just a donation; it’s a monumental leap towards a brighter and more sustainable future for Haiti.”

With less than 35% of Haitian schools having access to electricity, this initiative stands to greatly enhance education and community development, benefiting more than 150,000 students.

“I’m thrilled that we have partnered with Brighten Haiti to provide their communities with sustainable solar panels and access to clean energy,” said Maria Caballero, President, TERREPOWER.
