SiS Distribution Expands Thailand solar infrastructure in Northeastern Thailand
In a significant move to bolster Thailand’s renewable energy sector, SiS Distribution (Thailand) Public Company Limited has officially launched two new Solar Distribution Centers in the key northeastern provinces of Ubon Ratchathani and Khon Kaen. This expansion is a direct response to the rapidly growing demand for solar energy solutions in the region and strengthens the company’s clean energy supply chain.
A Strategic Move in Thailand solar infrastructure’s Booming Market
The timing of this expansion is critical, as it aligns with Thailand’s impressive solar market trajectory. Projections indicate that the country’s installed solar capacity is set to grow from approximately 3.78 gigawatts (GW) in 2025 to nearly 6.97 GW by 2030, representing a compound annual growth rate of over 13%. SiS’s investment in physical infrastructure positions the company to effectively service this escalating demand.
This initiative also supports Thailand’s broader national energy roadmap. The government has set an ambitious target for renewable energy to constitute 30% of total energy consumption by 2037, with a specific goal of achieving nearly 39,000 megawatts peak (MWp) in cumulative solar capacity.
Enhanced Regional Operations and Thailand solar infrastructure Logistics
The two new distribution centers are strategically located to provide comprehensive coverage across Northeastern Thailand, a region demonstrating strong potential in economic growth, investment, and solar energy adoption.
- Ubon Ratchathani Center: This facility will serve the lower Northeastern provinces, including Sisaket, Amnat Charoen, Yasothon, Surin, and Buriram. This area is witnessing a notable increase in commercial, agricultural, and industrial solar projects.
- Khon Kaen Center: Targeting the central Northeastern provinces of Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, and Kalasin, this facility also serves as a crucial regional logistics hub, streamlining the supply chain for the entire area.
Both centers will maintain a ready stock of essential solar components, such as high-demand solar modules. Operationally, they are fully integrated with SiS’s central warehouse management system in Bangkok, ensuring seamless processes for inventory planning, order management, quality control, and distribution.
According to SiS’s Managing Director, this expansion is a core part of the company’s long-term strategy to develop a nationwide clean energy infrastructure. By establishing a local presence, SiS aims to significantly shorten delivery lead times and reduce transportation costs for solar installers, thereby enhancing their competitiveness and facilitating the broader adoption of clean energy throughout the region.
