Vattenfall Tützpatz solar park: Impressive 60 MW project

Vattenfall has commissioned the Tützpatz solar park, with a capacity of 55 MW, in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany.

Vattenfall Tützpatz solar park Powers 16,000 Homes

The Tützpatz solar park is now operational, generating enough electricity to power 16,000 households annually. This solar park is Vattenfall’s largest in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and ranks among the largest in the state. The plant comprises 100,000 solar panels spread across 55 hectares.

In Germany, Vattenfall currently operates nine solar farms with a total capacity of 86 MW. The Tützpatz solar farm is the first Vattenfall plant in the country to be connected to the power grid via a private line. Other significant solar projects are also emerging in Germany; for instance, Energiekontor launched three new solar parks with a combined capacity of 60 MWp, as reported by PVKnowhow.

“With this new solar park, we are expanding our renewables portfolio in Germany. Our goal is to make fossil-free living possible within one generation. With the Tützpatz solar park, we are taking another step in this direction. The plant was built within ten months, which was only possible thanks to the good cooperation with the municipality and the responsible authorities.” said Frank Dettmering, Head of Vattenfall’s Solar Business in Germany.
