Solar tracker manufacturer PV Hardware (PVH) has announced a significant agreement with Global Power Generation (GPG) Australia to supply tracking systems for two new solar farms, collectively adding 360 MW of renewable capacity to the nation’s grid. The projects, located in New South Wales and Queensland, will be constructed by main contractor Monford Group and represent a major expansion of PVH’s footprint in the country.
The larger of the two installations is the 260 MWp Glenellen Solar Farm in New South Wales. Slated for full operation by the fourth quarter of 2025, this facility will utilize over 370,000 solar modules mounted on PVH’s Monoline 2P trackers. Once commissioned, it is expected to generate enough clean electricity to power more than 80,000 homes. Significantly, Glenellen will be GPG’s first Agrisolar farm on a global scale, integrating agricultural land use with renewable energy generation.
In Queensland, the 100 MWp Bundaberg Solar Farm is set to begin operations even sooner, in the third quarter of 2025. This project will feature more than 168,000 solar modules equipped with PVH’s Monoline 1P trackers. Annually, it is projected to generate approximately 200 GWh of power, sufficient for about 36,000 homes, while offsetting around 170,000 tons of CO2 equivalent emissions.
These two contracts are a landmark achievement for PVH, increasing its total supply for Australian solar projects to over 2.9 GW since entering the market in 2018. The deal also marks an important step for GPG Australia, as these are its inaugural solar farms in New South Wales and Queensland, reinforcing its commitment to the country’s clean energy transition.
Trevor De Vries, PVH’s recently appointed VP of sales in Australia, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership. “I am delighted to make this my first announcement with PVH. It certainly marks a significant milestone for our progress and independence within the Australian market,” he stated. “We are especially pleased to be working alongside GPG Australia and Monford Group to bring these projects to life.” De Vries added that PVH’s global manufacturing capabilities allow for technology customization to meet the unique needs of these developments, which will create local jobs and bolster regional energy capacity.
