Global solar solutions provider CDS SOLAR has announced the successful completion and delivery of the first phase of a pivotal solar power initiative for the government of Myanmar. The project, located in Yangon, is a critical step in advancing the nation’s renewable energy capacity and enhancing its power grid infrastructure.
At the core of this milestone is a sophisticated 33kV side-isolated, grid-connected photovoltaic energy storage system. This technology is engineered to provide seamless transitions between off-grid operation and grid integration, significantly improving the stability and reliability of the local power supply. The completion of this phase marks a significant contribution to Myanmar’s long-term sustainability goals by generating clean energy and reducing the region’s carbon footprint.
According to company announcements, the project was delivered on schedule despite considerable logistical challenges and regional instability. This achievement underscores CDS SOLAR’s operational expertise and its ability to execute complex projects in demanding environments. The company, which has a cumulative installation record exceeding 20GW, utilized advanced technology and best practices to ensure the project’s timely progress.
A representative for the Myanmar Government stated, “The successful completion of the first phase of the solar farm project is an important step towards achieving our national energy goals. We are committed to increasing our renewable energy capacity and CDS Solar has proven to be a valuable partner in this endeavor.”
Echoing the collaborative spirit, the CEO of CDS SOLAR expressed pride in the team’s dedication. “We are delighted to work with the Government of Myanmar and look forward to continuing our partnership in subsequent phases of the project,” he said, highlighting the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality renewable energy solutions. The overall initiative, known as the SHWE MYOH project, is planned for a total capacity of 90MW and involves installing state-of-the-art solar panels and related infrastructure.
CDS SOLAR has emphasized its focus on fostering socioeconomic benefits through collaboration with local communities. As Myanmar continues to expand its solar portfolio, this project serves as a key example of a successful public-private partnership aimed at building a more sustainable and energy-independent future.
