Boviet Solar’s $400 Million Expansion: A Strategic Move in U.S. Solar Manufacturing

In a significant step to reinforce its long-term strategy in the American solar market, Boviet Solar is undertaking a landmark $400 million, two-phase manufacturing expansion in Greenville, North Carolina. This investment is expected to create over 1,300 jobs and establish a vertically integrated hub for domestic solar production, thereby significantly strengthening the U.S. clean energy supply chain. Phase I: Operational 3.0 GW Module Assembly

The first stage of this ambitious project features a state-of-the-art PV module manufacturing facility, which was commissioned on April 24, 2025. With an investment of $294 million, the 521,468-square-foot plant is already fully operational. In September 2025, a third production line was added, increasing the total annual capacity to 3.0 GW. This facility employs advanced solar manufacturing technology to produce Boviet’s Gamma Seriesâ„¢ Mono-Monofacial and Vega Seriesâ„¢ Mono-Bifacial modules, creating 374 local jobs in production and logistics.

Phase II: Vertically Integrated Cell Production

Commencing in January 2025, the second phase involves constructing a 3.0 GW monocrystalline PV cell factory, which is essential for Boviet’s vertical integration strategy. This facility will manage a critical part of the solar production process by transforming photovoltaic materials into advanced P-Type and N-Type cells. With its exterior completed in August 2025, the approximately 600,000-square-foot plant is on schedule for volume production in the second half of 2026. This phase is expected to add over 900 more jobs, bringing the total on the campus to more than 1,300.
