Energix Lithuania renewable: Stunning Jonava Project Deal

Energix Acquires Jonava Hybrid Renewable Project in Lithuania

In a landmark move for the European renewable energy landscape, Energix has announced its acquisition of the Jonava hybrid renewable project in Lithuania from European Energy. This strategic acquisition marks a significant expansion of Energix’s portfolio in the Baltic region and underscores the growing importance of integrated energy solutions.

Energix Lithuania renewable Project Overview

The Jonava project is a pioneering venture, set to become a cornerstone of Lithuania’s green energy infrastructure. With a planned total capacity of approximately 470 MW, the facility is designed to harness multiple renewable sources for maximum efficiency and grid stability.

The project’s innovative hybrid design comprises three key components:
* 140 MW of onshore wind power
* 330 MWp of solar PV
* 320 MWh of energy storage

By combining wind and solar generation with a substantial battery storage system, the Jonava project is engineered to provide a more consistent and reliable power supply. The integrated storage will capture excess energy generated during peak wind and sun hours and dispatch it when demand is high or generation is low, effectively smoothing out the intermittency often associated with renewables.

Project Timeline and Impact

Construction on the ambitious project is scheduled to begin soon, with the facility expected to achieve commercial operation by 2027. Once online, the Jonava project will significantly contribute to Lithuania’s renewable energy targets and enhance the country’s energy independence.

This acquisition represents a major strategic step for Energix, adding a large-scale, technologically advanced, and diversified asset to its operations. The project’s successful development will serve as a powerful example of how hybrid renewable energy systems can be effectively deployed to meet the evolving energy needs of the modern grid.
