JA Solar and Solarpro are developing a 240MW solar plant in Bulgaria, advancing renewable energy in Europe. This project is set to enhance Bulgaria’s renewable energy capacity and support the EU’s green energy goals.

Boosting Renewable Energy Capacity

In a significant move to advance renewable energy in Europe, JA Solar is partnering with Solarpro to develop a substantial 240MW solar power plant in Tenevo, a village in Bulgaria’s Yambol district. This collaboration marks a noteworthy step in bolstering the country’s renewable energy capacity and aligns with the European Union’s broader green energy objectives.

The solar power plant will feature high-efficiency TOPCon modules from JA Solar’s DeepBlue 4.0 Pro line. These modules are known for their superior performance and reliability, making them ideal for large-scale energy projects.

Solarpro, a prominent EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor and technology provider in Europe, will oversee the entire project lifecycle. This includes the intricate phases of design, implementation, and continuous monitoring to ensure optimal performance.

The project is financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), a financial institution committed to fostering sustainable development through investments that support a low-carbon transition. Installation of the solar modules is set to begin in the third quarter of 2024. The project is expected to be connected to the grid and fully operational by the end of the second quarter of 2025.
