Sun Africa has completed a 370 MWp solar PV project in Angola, consisting of seven utility-scale solar plants in the provinces of Benguela, Huambo, Bié, and Lunda Norte. Developed in partnership with MCA Group and Hitachi Energy, the project is the largest solar initiative in sub-Saharan Africa.

This project is part of Angola’s broader goal to significantly expand its solar power capacity, with the country aiming for 800 MW by 2025. Other initiatives include the Angola solar power project to launch 100 MW by 2025 and a plan to build 65 solar mini-grids with a $1.6 billion grant.
