Aspen Power Adds 25.5 MW Solar Capacity in Pennsylvania

Aspen Power, a distributed generation platform dedicated to building a clean energy future, has finalized six solar projects in Pennsylvania with a combined capacity of 25.5 MW DC.

Aspen Power Completes First Phase of Solar Expansion

Aspen Power has completed six solar projects in Pennsylvania, marking the first phase of a larger portfolio acquired from Sunrise Energy after the two companies collaborated on their development. These projects bring Aspen Power’s total solar capacity in the state to over 145 MW and are expected to generate up to 37 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in their first year—enough to power 5,100 homes annually.

“We’re proud to advance decarbonization with the team at Sunrise, who have been committed partners in bringing these projects to life. Commissioning projects in the Keystone State is key to supporting a sustainable future for all and achieving our goal of gigawatt-scale in the coming years,” said Dan Gulick, Senior Vice President, Community Solar, Aspen Power.

Solar Projects Boost Pennsylvania’s Renewable Energy Goals

As Pennsylvania works toward generating 18% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2025, these commercial net metering solar projects will play a key role. They will help the state achieve its target while also enabling residents, businesses, and other organizations to participate in the renewable energy transition.
