Independent power producer Clearvise AG has significantly grown its renewable energy portfolio, finalizing the acquisition of the Wolfsgarten solar park from developer ALTUS Renewables GmbH. The newly commissioned facility adds a substantial 42 MWp of capacity to Clearvise’s holdings, elevating its total operational generation portfolio to 316 MW across Europe.
The Wolfsgarten park, planned and constructed by Karlsruhe-based ALTUS, commenced operations at the end of April 2024, positioning Clearvise to realize earnings contributions from the project within the current year. This acquisition marks the second successful collaboration between the two companies, deepening a partnership centered on subsidy-free solar energy projects backed by private Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
Petra Leue-Bahns, CEO of Clearvise AG, highlighted the strength of the partnership. “A large-scale, intricate project like Wolfsgarten demonstrates why we have faith in ALTUS’s development experience,” she stated. “We are grateful to our partner for their outstanding collaboration and unwavering dedication, which allowed the park to open on time before the summer’s high-radiation months.”
The deal represents a strategic adjustment to a prior agreement. As reported by EQS News, Clearvise and ALTUS initially signed purchase agreements in 2021 for a portfolio that included both the Wolfsgarten and Heiligenfelde solar parks. Due to shifting market conditions, the agreement was revised for Clearvise to acquire Wolfsgarten while ALTUS retained ownership of the Heiligenfelde project.
Looking forward, the partnership remains robust. ALTUS will continue to oversee the long-term management of the park, ensuring its optimal performance. “With the Wolfsgarten Solar Park, we have shown that our seasoned team is capable of completing ambitious projects, even under challenging market conditions,” said Marco Eggensperger, Managing Director of ALTUS Renewables GmbH. “We are happy that we will remain in charge of the park’s long-term management following the sale, allowing us to deepen our collaboration with Clearvise.”
This acquisition aligns with Clearvise’s three-pillar strategy for profitable expansion of its solar parks and wind farms, further balancing its portfolio and creating sustainable value for stakeholders.
