Lubanzi Inala Chooses FTC Solar South Africa for Tracker Supply in South Africa

In a significant move for South Africa’s renewable energy sector, U.S.-based solar tracker systems provider FTC Solar, Inc. has announced a major partnership with Lubanzi Inala. The three-year supply agreement will see FTC Solar provide its advanced tracker technology for a series of solar projects across South Africa.

Lubanzi Inala, a prominent solar procurement company operating under the EPC consortium Green Axis Africa, has solidified a deal that underscores the growing momentum of solar power in the region.

Details of the Landmark FTC Solar South Africa Agreement

The agreement covers the supply of approximately 840 megawatts (MW) of FTC Solar’s tracker systems. This includes both their 1P (single-panel) and 2P (dual-panel) tracker solutions, offering flexibility for various project terrains and requirements across Lubanzi’s portfolio.

Under the terms of the three-year contract, FTC Solar will provide not only the tracker hardware but also the accompanying software and services. The deployment for the first project is scheduled to commence in mid-2026, with subsequent projects rolling out over the duration of the agreement.

A Strategic Partnership for Growth with FTC Solar South Africa

This collaboration marks a significant expansion for FTC Solar into the burgeoning South African market. Yann Brandt, President and CEO of FTC Solar, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the opportunity to support the country’s clean energy transition.

Simphiwe Sithole, CEO of Lubanzi Inala, noted that FTC Solar’s innovative tracker technology is an ideal fit for the diverse portfolio of projects they are developing. The deal is seen as a strategic step to ensure the efficiency and performance of their upcoming solar installations.

The announcement has been met with positive reception, aligning with FTC Solar’s recent growth and favorable market outlook, which includes a recent price target upgrade from analysts at UBS. This partnership not only strengthens FTC Solar’s global footprint but also provides a critical boost to South Africa’s capacity for renewable energy generation.
