The transmission and distribution grid will also see a major overhaul, with plans to upgrade 17,098 kilometers of power lines, 444 substations, and 3,408 distribution and transformer stations. Acknowledging the country’s harsh climate, the plan also prioritizes the reconstruction of 377 kilometers of essential heat networks. These concerted efforts are expected to dramatically lower infrastructure degradation, with projected wear on power transmission networks falling to 65.7% and on heat networks to 48%, ensuring a more stable supply ahead of the critical heating season.
