Altyn Dala Solar Power Station: Advancing Kazakhstan’s Solar Power Expansion
Kazakhstan is poised to enhance its renewable energy sector with the construction of the 545 MW Altyn Dala Solar Power Station in the Zhambyl region. Construction is scheduled to begin this year, with its first phase expected to be complete by the second half of 2025 and full completion anticipated by the end of the year.

By the end of 2023, Kazakhstan had an installed solar capacity of 1,696 MW. The country’s total renewable energy capacity, including hydropower and wind, stood at 2.7 GW. Currently, solar energy accounts for 3.5% of Kazakhstan’s total electricity generation.
