Malaysia’s Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation has launched the sixth round of its Large-Scale Solar (LSS6) programme, inviting bids for 2,650 MW of solar generation capacity across Peninsular Malaysia.

The tender is structured to offer 2,500 MW of utility-scale solar capacity paired with 1,250 MW of battery energy storage systems (BESS). Additionally, 150 MW is reserved for Bumiputera companies, emphasizing the government’s commitment to inclusivity in renewable energy projects.
