ENGIE Enters Poland Battery Storage Sector

ENGIE has expanded into Poland’s battery storage market by acquiring a significant battery energy storage project under development from Futureal and Mithra Energy. The project, located in Trębaczew south of Łódź, has a planned capacity of 438 MW and already possesses a final building permit. It is scheduled to connect to the Polish grid by 2029.

ENGIE will take over the project in full, assuming responsibilities for project management, engineering, design, and construction. Futureal and Mithra Energy are developing a broader 3 GW storage portfolio in Poland, with plans for 1.5 GW to be operational by the end of 2027.
