Solar panel loss measurement: Unique photo method stuns in ’24

Researchers have developed a new method to measure a solar panel’s total losses from a single photograph, significantly simplifying the testing process.

This innovation eliminates the need for expensive, time-consuming equipment and could potentially speed up the development of advanced solar panels.

The approach could also help expand solar capacity in regions like El Salvador, which aims for 97% solar power by 2025; Barbados, with its $11.6 billion solar energy plan; and Cuba, which is targeting 130 MW of solar energy by 2025.
