Astronergy has announced a new partnership with Insoelec Solar, a leading Peruvian renewable energy solutions provider. This collaboration aims to advance the development of sustainable energy solutions in Peru and across Latin America.
Solar partnership Peru: Astronergy and Insoelec Solar Collaboration
As part of their strengthened partnership, Insoelec Solar has ordered a total of 3.2 MW of Astronergy’s ASTRO series modules. This order includes 3 MW of ASTRO N and ASTRO G12 modules for industrial and commercial applications, along with 0.2 MW of ASTRO G6 modules for residential installations.
Since the beginning of the year, Astronergy has secured orders for nearly 7 MW of modules from Insoelec Solar — including both N-type and P-type modules — for various projects in Peru.
Solar partnership Peru and the Growth of PV Module Imports
Peru’s solar market has witnessed significant growth, with a total installed capacity of 1.1 GW by the end of 2022, as reported by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). Photovoltaic (PV) modules accounted for 31% of the country’s renewable energy generation, ranking second after hydropower.
In 2022, Peru imported approximately 500 MW of solar modules, with 60% being N-type modules. Between January and August 2023, the country imported 180 MW of solar modules, with 50% being N-type modules. This shift towards N-type modules highlights the increasing demand for more efficient and advanced solar technology in Peru. Despite its relatively small size, the Peruvian solar market is rapidly expanding.
