Solar partnership Peru: Astronergy and Insoelec’s 3.2 MW Success

Astronergy has announced a new partnership with Insoelec Solar, a leading provider of renewable energy solutions in Peru. This collaboration is set to advance the development of sustainable energy throughout the country and across Latin America.

Astronergy and Insoelec Solar Announce Partnership in Peru

Under the new partnership, Insoelec Solar has ordered 3.2 MW of Astronergyโ€™s ASTRO series modules. The order consists of 3 MW of ASTRO N and ASTRO G12 modules for industrial and commercial applications, alongside 0.2 MW of ASTRO G6 modules for residential installations.

This builds on a strong start to the year, with Astronergy already securing orders for nearly 7 MW of modules from Insoelec Solarโ€”including both N-type and P-type modelsโ€”for various projects across Peru.

Peru’s Growing Solar Market and Shift to N-Type Modules

Peruโ€™s solar market has grown significantly, reaching a total installed capacity of 1.1 GW by the end of 2022, according to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). Photovoltaic (PV) modules accounted for 31% of the country’s renewable energy generation, making them the second-largest source after hydropower.

In 2022, Peru imported approximately 500 MW of solar modules, with N-type models accounting for 60% of that total. Between January and August 2023, the country brought in another 180 MW, half of which were N-type. This shift underscores the growing demand for more efficient and advanced solar technology in a market that, despite its relatively small size, is expanding rapidly.

Peru’s commitment to expanding its solar infrastructure is also evident in other major projects, such as Acciona’s construction of a 225-MWp solar plant, further cementing the country’s dedication to renewable energy.

How the ASTRO Series Supports Peru’s Energy Transformation

Astronergyโ€™s ASTRO series modules are known for their high efficiency, durability, and cost-effectiveness. Its ASTRO N module, featuring N-type TOPCon technology, offers enhanced performance and a longer lifespan, making it ideal for large-scale industrial and commercial projects. Meanwhile, the ASTRO G12 and G6 modules are designed to meet the diverse energy needs of residential and commercial customers with reliable, sustainable solutions.

The deployment of these modules will be crucial for enhancing Peruโ€™s renewable energy infrastructure, contributing to the countryโ€™s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and promote sustainable development.

Astronergy remains committed to providing innovative, high-quality solar solutions and strengthening its partnership with Insoelec Solar to support Peruโ€™s transition toward a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
