South Korea will provide support for Serbia’s 1.2 GW solar project with an investment of EUR 900 million.
The initiative aims to develop a solar portfolio of approximately 1.2 GW in Serbia, with construction expected to be completed by 2031. This project leverages South Korea’s in-house construction capabilities to facilitate the development of large-scale renewable energy infrastructure.
This solar project is part of wider regional efforts aimed at expanding solar power generation and energy storage capabilities in Southeast Europe. In addition, Serbia plans to engage in discussions regarding a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Romania for the Đerdap 3 pumped storage project, which aligns with the regional drive towards renewable energy integration and storage solutions.
