EDP Commissions Major Taiwan Solar PV System
EDP has commissioned Taiwan’s largest solar photovoltaic (PV) system for an all-weather sports complex, installing a 3.3 MWp photovoltaic array at Tzu Ming High School in Taichung. The project, executed through EDP’s subsidiary EDP APAC, represents a significant addition to Taiwan’s renewable energy infrastructure.
Project Details of the Taiwan Solar PV System
The solar installation is expected to generate over 4.63 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity each year. This system is projected to reduce carbon emissions by 2,224 metric tons annually, contributing to Taiwan’s efforts in combating climate change.
Significance of the Taiwan Solar PV System Installation
This facility stands as the largest solar PV installation integrated into a single site for an all-weather sports complex in Taiwan. It serves as a scalable model for decentralized power generation in land-constrained urban areas, addressing both energy needs and environmental impacts.
