Yellow Door Energy Expands Solar Portfolio Across the Middle East
Yellow Door Energy, a leading solar developer in the UAE, is significantly expanding its portfolio with nine new solar installations planned for completion by 2025. These projects, distributed across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, solidify the company’s commitment to renewable energy in the region. Together, the installations are expected to generate over 75 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean energy annually, significantly reducing carbon emissions and accelerating the region’s transition to a more sustainable energy future.
The UAE, which has already made significant strides in solar energy adoption, is a key focus for Yellow Door Energy. As reported by PV KnowHow, the nation boasts the largest installed solar capacity in the Middle East, reaching approximately 7.90 gigawatts in 2024. This leadership is reflected in ambitious targets to generate 25% of its electricity from solar energy and achieve a total installed capacity of 44 GW by 2050.
This supportive regulatory environment, coupled with the country’s reliable power infrastructure, creates fertile ground for the company’s expansion plans. The new projects align with the UAE’s broader vision, which includes several upcoming solar farms slated for completion between 2030 and 2050 with capacities ranging from 60MW to an impressive 1500MW. Supported by regulations promoting PV system installations, these initiatives highlight the region’s firm commitment to clean energy solutions.
