Everybody Solar Partners with ZYEP on Solar Installation
The Zuni Youth Enrichment Project (ZYEP) is installing a 26.88-kW solar array with support from Everybody Solar. The resulting energy savings will be channeled into youth programs, furthering ZYEP’s mission to empower Zuni youth.
“This solar initiative represents a pivotal moment for our organization and the Zuni community. By harnessing clean energy, we’re not only reducing our environmental impact but also creating more opportunities for our youth to thrive,” said Tahlia Natachu-Eriacho, executive director of ZYEP. “It’s a testament to our commitment to building a sustainable and vibrant future for Zuni children.”
ZYEP to Use Solar Array as an Educational Tool
ZYEP also plans to use the solar installation as an educational resource, creating presentations and materials to raise awareness about renewable energy among youth and community members. The initiative builds on ZYEP’s history of success, which includes 95% of youth participants reporting better health outcomes from its programs.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate with ZYEP on this impactful project. By providing clean energy solutions, we’re supporting ZYEP’s crucial work in youth development while promoting renewable energy adoption in Indigenous communities,” said Myriam Scally, executive director of Everybody Solar. “This project embodies our mission to protect the environment and empower communities through solar energy.”
ZYEP’s Solar Initiative to Cut Costs and Carbon Emissions
The solar installation at the Zuni Youth Center will lower electricity costs and reduce the organization’s carbon footprint, all while promoting renewable energy. This will allow ZYEP to redirect resources toward improving its programs and facilities, advancing its mission to support Zuni youth. The 26.88 kW solar array is expected to generate 48,250 kWh of electricity annually, offsetting 74,311 pounds of CO2 emissions. These cost savings will be reinvested in sustainable development.
ZYEP is dedicated to incorporating environmentally conscious practices into its policies and operations, establishing itself as a learning center for solar energy. The organization aims to educate stakeholders on the project’s benefits, using materials that highlight its commitment to a sustainable future for Zuni youth.
